Waveplates
Birefringent optics that shift the phase between orthogonal polarization components to rotate or convert polarization, without attenuating or displacing the beam. Our zero-order, air-spaced design stays largely indifferent to wavelength and temperature drift, backed by high-performance IBS coatings and outstanding LIDT – reliable for ultrafast systems, beam alignment and isolators alike.

FAQs
How can IBS-coated Waveplates benefit my business?
IBS-coated waveplates offer extremely low absorption, high LIDT, and excellent environmental stability. Their precise retardation enables accurate polarization control in high-power and ultrafast laser setups, reducing thermal effects, and extending system lifetime. The zero-order air-spaced design ensures consistent performance over time, lowering maintenance costs and total cost of ownership.
Can these waveplates handle high-power ultrafast laser systems?
Absolutely. OPTOMAN’s SuperHero Power IBS-coated waveplates are optimized for femtosecond and picosecond lasers, with measured LIDT of >0.97 J/cm² @ 515 nm, 200 ns, 300 kHz, and estimated >1.92 J/cm² @ 1030 nm, 200 ns, 300 kHz. Their glue-free construction eliminates thermal stress and optical fatigue, ensuring stable operation even in high-repetition-rate or TW-class laser systems.
How can I be sure these waveplates will fit my application?
OPTOMAN collaborates closely with customers to ensure that each optical component fits the target system’s polarization, power, and wavelength requirements. Whether your priority is precision, robustness, or cost-efficiency, our engineers help optimize optical parameters to match your needs.
Does OPTOMAN provide optics or only coating service?
Both. 80% of total OPTOMAN revenue comes from complete products, while 20% is generated by providing coating services on customer-supplied substrates. OPTOMAN responsibly oversees the supplier network for reliable substrates and, if needed, can offer a completely European supply chain.
